Remarks | g.yung drung going pa (1346-1405)The first page of this manuscript is beautifully ornamented.
The title folio possesses an elaborate double frame traced with double red lines and painted with yellow, green, and red washes. The title of the text is written at the centre of a narrow rectangular frame painted red on the sides and green on top and at the bottom. This first frame is surrounded by a larger one, which possesses a red middle section and two green side-compartments ornamented with scrollwork traced with red ink on a yellow background. On the verso of this folio, the text is framed by double red lines as well as green and red side-columns. One also notices in this manuscript yig mgo with distinctively long initial curves, and numerous cases of rubrication enhanced by yellow washes. |
