9. Translation of colophon | In the case, the text made by Shes rab rgyal mtshan, the bhikkhu of the doctrine of gShen tradition, may this merit be benefit fundamentally destroy all enemies of the doctrine, may it be auspicious! The copyist, which is from in Ra nag bsod nsam gtsug phud’s hand.
This daily fulfilling offering text is composed by mantrika Rin chen blo gros, may it be auspicious! The aspiration part (of the festive ritual) is over, may it be virtue, may it be auspicious! |
10. Remarks | Shes rab rgyal mtshan (1356-1415), founder of the sMan ri monastery in 1405 in central Tibet, and famous as the second Buddha of Bon for his contributions to scholarship, as well as the building of sMan ri monastery, which was in line with the monasteries in the mainstream Tibetan Buddhism tradition at the time.
Ra nag bsod nsam gtsug phud (?) mantrika Rin chen blo gros (18C) or known as Bon nag rin chen blo gros, is a heritor of master in the linage of Red-razor Tantra Cycle of sTga la me ’bar deity. |
