In this way, the [the divinities] are exhorted to action from the pure dimension. This is a teaching (lung bstan) of the great master Dran pa nam mkha’, an aural transmission of sTang chen dMu rtsa gyer med, and an accomplishment of sPrul sku blo ldan snying po. It was later practised by worthy disciples as something to be performed by overt or hidden practitioners. The ritual of the oath-bound protectors is over.

The ritual belongs to the sādhana cycle of meditational deity sTag la me ’bar, and is performed to ensure the protection of the oath-bound protector divinities of Bon.
