Translation of colophon | In this way, making vows and performing the non-apprehension seal, the Red Garuda’s sadhana teaching, initially taught by the manifestation Buddha sTon pa gshen rab in the stag gzig region, was passed on to master dBal bon sTag la me ’bar. It was then transmitted to master Dran pa nam mkha’ of Zhangzhung, who further passed it to Legs btang rmang po. He concealed it within a box made of rhinoceros hide (or copper) in the south of the sacred mountain sBa zhabs brag dkar, which is shaped like a demon’s eye. This text, on yellowish-gray paper with flame motifs in gold ink and sealed with a syllable count in the thousands, is awaiting the day when it will be discovered by those with affinity. In this manner, under the vow of the guardian protector lHa bstan rgyal po, it was hidden.
