After achieving the signs of accomplishment, send [the effigy representing demons or enemies] to the enemy’s side, burn the effigy representing the vow-breakers, and crush the enemy’s head. The short text of the mdos ritual of Byams ma to reverse the enemy is completed. Ma la ha ras gu ge rgyud. Wonderful. This text for the repulsion of enemies was completed on the 28th day the sixth month in an Earth Dog year. Virtue.

10. General remarks

This text is based on the goddess Byams ma, an important deity of the Bon religion. She offers salvation from the eight kinds of danger, as the goddess Tārā does in Buddhism.

’khyug ma tshugs for instructions; tshugs thung for sections to be recited; colophon is ’khyug ma tshugs with one short passage of Zhangzhung script.
