Translation of colophon

If you recite it 21 times each day, there is no doubt that it will eliminate the sin caused by the oath. when master Zhang zhung stong rgyung mthu chen was meditating on the shore of the gNam mthso lake, Hor bkra shis appeared on the other side of the lake on a blue
horse, leading a grey hound, and carrying a bow and arrow. When he passed the cliffs, he said that he wanted to pray to Master sTong rgyung mthu chen for rush over like a horse. Zhang zhung stong rgyung mthu chen has all-positive of mind, then can use his
compassion to observe the six realms of reincarnation and all the past, present and future of the world systems, therefore (hor bkra shis) was rescued. After, Hor bkra shis saw a young deer in a ravine, he caught it and wanted to kill it, in an instant, Master Zhang
zhung stong rgyung smiled came to the top of Hor bkra shis’s head and said: “Don’t kill this young deer, let it go! I saved you just now when you passed the cliff, so you can’t do that.” In this way, [hor bkra shis] swore in front the mountain god and released the deer.
However, at the beginning of the following year, he killed the deer, so because of breaking the oath, he was contaminated by the sin of breaking the oath for nine years, he couldn’t see the sun during the day and the moon at the night, as long as for nine years,
and can only sleep in a muddy and dirty place like hell. Therefore, he offered a bowl of gold to master sTong rgyung mthu chen as a confession, and master sTong rgyung mthu chen said: “Sprinkle the gold in the bowl to the Gu ru, meditation deity and protector
deity in to sky,” then [hor bkra shis] sprinkled the gold in to sky, the gold didn’t fall on the ground. In this way, the time to tame the ferocious hor [Mongolian? 】has come, then after he [stong rgyung mthu chen] made a confession of transgression of oath, hor
people [Mongolia? ]’s sins are all cleaned up, the golden sun began to rose, the white moon began to shone, because of abandoning evil and practicing the good deeds of Bon doctrine, Hor khro bo bkra shis and all of his followers were released. Sa ma ya, rgya rgya rgya. In the future, the foolish people, if they recite the confession of oath for fifty
times, then they will realize the true nature of the peaceful and wrathful meditation deities. Auspicious, and good virtue.
