| 9. Translation of colophon | May there be auspicious blessings. By means of this profound ritual, may living beings be liberated from the illness of the Four Maras. May glorious auspiciousness be the ornament of the world. May this text bring happiness to the heart of the Drangsong [lama]. May there be blessings and virtue. How wondrous! Through the good karma resulting from the purification undergone in a previous life, [the Drangsong?] received a human birth with its freedoms and fortunes. His physical body was endowed with the major and minor signs. He understood the meanings in the voice of Brahma. The sun of knowledge shone vastly in his mind that was free of elaborations: homage to the feet of my root lama! Homage to the fee of Rinchen Gyaltsen! Blessings. (v001_IMG_0592A) |
| 10. General remarks | There is an unusual system of writing figures, notably the sign for “10”; this is mainly found in texts from East Tibet. In the colophon appears a phrase as ‘please make Drangsrong happy’, and after the ་colophon, there is a prayer that mentions the name of the scribe’s teacher, Rin chen rgyal mtshan. Unfortunately, there is no more information available for the latter. |
