The material side of Tibetan books is often overlooked in historical studies. Manuscripts have rarely been viewed as artifacts in their own right, with their own specific forms and technologies. As a result, very little is known about the regional, religious (Bön or Buddhist) or cultural differences in books and paper across the Himalayas over the course of history. This website presents two projects funded by the National Science Centre, Poland (Mardzong and Drangsong), as well as a database of manuscripts documented in Mustang since 2015, using interdisciplinary methods.
